Private Jet Travel Guides
Plain answers to the rules that shape a private flight, from pets to paperwork, each checked against official sources and dated.
Each guide answers the questions clients ask us before a flight: what the rules require, which paperwork you need, and which parts we handle for you. Every rule links to its official source, such as gov.uk, the European Commission or the airport itself, and carries the date we last checked it.

Flying with your dog or cat on a private jet
On a private jet your dog, cat or ferret can travel with you, including into Great Britain, where pets on scheduled flights must go as cargo. The aircraft operator must be approved to carry pets to the airport you land at, and your pet needs a microchip, a rabies vaccination and the right certificate.

Flying with shotguns and rifles on a private jet
Shotguns and rifles can travel with you on a private jet if the operator agrees in advance, the guns are unloaded and they are stowed where no one can reach them in flight. You also need the right certificate or permit and, going abroad, the paperwork for leaving the UK and for entering your destination.

Flying between the UK and Europe since Brexit
British passengers need a passport issued in the last 10 years and valid for 3 months after they leave, and can spend 90 days in any 180 in the Schengen area. Since April 2026 the EU takes fingerprints and a photo at the border instead of stamping passports; ETIAS hasn't started. Europeans flying into the UK need a passport and a UK ETA.

Luggage on a private jet: how much fits and what you can bring
There is no set luggage allowance on a private jet: what fits depends on the aircraft's baggage space and on its weight for the trip. Light jets carry roughly 50 to 85 cubic feet, large jets two or three times that. The aviation safety rules still apply, so power banks, spare batteries and vapes travel in the cabin with you.

Flying with children and babies on a private jet
Every child needs their own passport, and taking a child abroad needs the permission of everyone with parental responsibility. On board, children aged 2 and over need their own seat, while a baby under 2 can travel on an adult's lap with a loop belt or in an approved child seat. Children flying without a parent need more paperwork.

Seventh freedom flights: why some jets can't fly your route
Every charter operator from outside the UK needs a UK permit for each flight, and can only fly the routes its country's air agreements allow. An EU operator can fly you between the UK and the EU, but between the UK and a country outside the EU, such as Switzerland, it would be flying a seventh freedom flight. In our experience that can't be done, so the cheaper quote may be for an aircraft that can't fly your trip.
