Private jets at Geneva Airport
Geneva is a busy airport where every private flight needs prior permission (PPR), booked through a handling agent no more than five days ahead. Several private terminals operate here, but Swiss law stops private (non-commercial) flights from 22:00 to 06:00, and commercial flights also face tight night limits.

Business aviation handling
Signature operates from Terminal C3 and Jet Aviation from its own FBO with three executive lounges. Dassault Aviation Business Services has facilities on the north and south aprons.
Jet Aviation
FBO at 18 Chemin des Papillons, Geneva-Cointrin. Three executive lounges, a conference room, crew lounge and snooze room, and on-site immigration and customs. Open 06:00-22:00 daily.
Signature
FBO in Terminal C3, Chemin des Papillons 18. On-site customs and immigration and a crew room. Open 06:00-22:00 local, call-out on request. Signature obtains the PPR for its customers.
Dassault Aviation Business Services
FBO with a position on both the north and south aprons, refurbished lounges, Swiss and French customs on site and in-house de-icing in winter (Paragon Network release, July 2021). Current hours not confirmed.
Worth knowing before you fly
- Private (non-commercial) flights must be on the ground or away by 22:00 and cannot move before 06:00. A commercial charter can go a little later, but after 22:00 it faces noise limits and the airport's late-departure quota charge, and nothing departs between midnight and 06:00.
- PPR opens only five days before the flight and is booked by the handler. Approval does not guarantee a parking stand, and a stay of more than three hours needs separate approval.
- During major events such as EBACE in May, parking is capped at two hours, so plan a drop-off and reposition rather than a stay.
- Dassault Aviation Business Services has advertised both Swiss and French customs on site, which can matter for passengers travelling on into France; confirm the arrangement with the handler for each trip.
- In winter we watch the weather closely and book a hangar where we can, which can save thousands against a de-icing bill.

Airport
| Opening hours | The airport operating regulations (state 1 January 2025) say the airport is open permanently, subject to the night-flight rules. Swiss federal law (OSIA art. 39, consolidated text of 1 July 2026) bans take-offs and landings of non-commercial flights 22:00-06:00 local at all Swiss aerodromes. Commercial flights, charter included, may take off 22:00-24:00 only with aircraft below set noise limits; take-offs are banned 00:00-06:00 and landings 00:00-05:00. Delayed flights may take off or land until 00:30 at the latest. Jet Aviation's FBO is open 06:00-22:00 daily. Signature's FBO is open 06:00-22:00 local, with call-out on request. |

| Prior permission | PPR is required for all flights that Slot Coordination Switzerland does not handle, which covers business and general aviation. Booking opens 5 days in advance and is made by the handling agent, unless the operator holds its own PPR account. The PPR number goes in item 18 of the flight plan. Changes and cancellations must be made at least 15 minutes before the PPR time. A PPR does not guarantee parking or an ATC slot, and does not override the night rules or NOTAMs. Commercial movements planned 22:00-06:00 need the airport operator's approval in advance. |
| Customs and immigration | Jet Aviation and Signature both state that immigration and customs are on site at their Geneva FBOs. Dassault Aviation Business Services stated in 2021 that it has Swiss and French customs and immigration on site. |
| Slots | Airline flights are coordinated by Slot Coordination Switzerland. Business and general aviation slots cannot be requested from Slot Coordination Switzerland; they use the airport's own PPR system, booked through the handling agent. |
| Noise and night restrictions | Night rules come from Swiss federal law (OSIA art. 39 and 39a): no non-commercial movements 22:00-06:00; commercial take-offs 22:00-24:00 only with quieter aircraft (noise index limits) and none 00:00-06:00; commercial landings none 00:00-05:00; delayed flights until 00:30 at the latest. On top of this, the airport runs a noise quota system for departures delayed beyond 22:00: once an operator's quota is used up, a late departure pays a strongly progressive charge. Slot Coordination Switzerland lists a slot-allocation curfew of 24:00-06:04 CET for arrivals. |
| Aircraft parking | A PPR does not guarantee aircraft parking. Slot Coordination Switzerland states that parking layovers of more than 3 hours need prior approval from the airport authority, and that parking is limited to 2 hours during EBACE (May). On the south stands a handling agent is mandatory for all flights. |
| De-icing | Jet Aviation lists Type I (premix) de-icing and Type IV (100%) anti-icing. Dassault Aviation Business Services stated in 2021 that it offers in-house de-icing in winter. |
| Other restrictions | Ground handling is mandatory for all aircraft types, and commercial flights must use a handling agent. Non-commercial flights may self-handle only on the north side of the airport, and only if the pilot holds a Genève Aéroport ID card or a recognised crew member card; a pilot licence alone is not accepted. The airport's priority order puts commercial IFR flights ahead of non-commercial IFR flights. |
