Private jets at Teterboro Airport
Teterboro is a general aviation airport serving New York City, about 12 miles from Midtown Manhattan, with no airline flights and several large private terminals. It is attended around the clock, but it has strict departure noise limits, a voluntary night restraint from 23:00 to 06:00, and ramp space that is often full.

Business aviation handling
Teterboro is a general aviation airport, so all passengers use FBO terminals. Signature runs three terminals, and Atlantic Aviation and Jet Aviation each run their own.
Signature Aviation (East, West and South terminals)
Three FBO terminals, all open 24 hours. East (200 Fred Wehran Drive) lists onsite customs and immigration on weekdays with limited hours. South (101 Charles A Lindbergh Drive) lists VIP and head-of-state handling. West (485 Industrial Avenue) lists a jet bridge and de-icing capability.
Atlantic Aviation
233 Industrial Avenue. Open 24 hours. Lists on-field customs clearance (reservation number needed in advance) and Type I and IV de-icing.
Jet Aviation
112 Charles A. Lindbergh Drive. Open 24 hours. Executive lounge, conference rooms, crew lounge and snooze room. Hosts one of the two CBP inspection facilities. Requires a PPR number before entering its ramp.
Worth knowing before you fly
- Teterboro is about 12 miles from Midtown Manhattan and has no airline traffic, so passengers use private terminals only.
- Ramp space often runs out. Aircraft may have to drop passengers and reposition to another airport to park, so we confirm parking with the FBO before we quote a stay.
- Late departures are discouraged: there is a voluntary restraint on non-essential flights from 23:00 to 06:00, and Runway 24 has a strict 80 dB(A) departure limit from 22:00. Three noise violations in two years mean an aircraft is banned.
- International arrivals must land within the CBP hours of 07:30-23:15 and within 30 minutes of the agreed ETA. Clearing at Jet Aviation lets passengers leave directly; clearing at Hangar 1 means taxiing to the FBO afterwards.

Airport
| Opening hours | The FAA Chart Supplement lists the airport as attended continuously. Signature (East, West and South terminals), Atlantic Aviation and Jet Aviation all publish 24-hour, 7-day FBO hours. CBP inspection for arriving international flights is 07:30-23:15 local, 7 days a week. |
|---|---|
| Prior permission | No airport-wide PPR is published for business jets. A jet that is new to Teterboro, or has changed owner or operator, must first get approval from the Airport Manager by sending a Permission to Operate Jet Aircraft form. Some FBOs run their own reservation systems: Jet Aviation requires a valid PPR number before an aircraft enters its ramp. |
| Customs and immigration | US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) clears passenger flights only, at two inspection facilities: Hangar 1 on the north side and Jet Aviation on the south side. Inspection is 07:30-23:15 local, 7 days a week. Permission to land must be obtained from CBP at least 2 hours before departure from the foreign airport, and it is valid for 30 minutes either side of the ETA. At Hangar 1 passengers reboard and taxi to their FBO after inspection; at Jet Aviation they can leave directly. Atlantic Aviation says aircraft needing customs must get a reservation number from Atlantic in advance. Jet Aviation lists after-hours customs clearance with 24 hours' notice, subject to approval. |
| Slots | Teterboro is not one of the US airports where the FAA limits flights with slots or schedule review. FBOs may require their own reservations or PPR numbers. |
| Noise and night restrictions | Mandatory departure noise limits apply on every runway: Runway 24 is limited to 80 dB(A) from 22:00 to 07:00 local and 90 dB(A) at other times, and Runways 01, 19 and 06 are limited to 95 dB(A) at all times. An aircraft that gets three noise violations in two years is banned from Teterboro. There is also a voluntary restraint on non-essential flights from 23:00 to 06:00 local; operators who fly then receive a reminder letter. Preferred noise-abatement runways and procedures are recommended from 22:00 to 07:00 local. |
| Aircraft parking | Ramp space is a known constraint. The FAA-approved Environmental Assessment for Signature's redevelopment (August 2026) says aircraft keep flying to Teterboro when no parking space is available, which leads to ferry flights: the aircraft drops its passengers, flies elsewhere to park, and returns to collect them. Signature lists no overnight hangar or ramp parking at its terminals. |
| De-icing | Offered by FBOs. Atlantic Aviation lists Type I and IV de-icing, Jet Aviation lists Type I de-icing and Type IV anti-icing, and Signature West lists de-icing capability. |
| Other restrictions | Stage 1 aircraft are not allowed. Aircraft able to operate above 100,000 lb must certify to the airport manager that their operating weight is below 100,000 lb. Jet aircraft need Airport Manager approval (Permission to Operate form) before first operating at Teterboro. Jet and turbine engine run-ups on the ramp are prohibited. The FAA publishes an arrival alert because pilots have confused Teterboro's Runway 06 with Newark's Runway 11. |
