Private jets at Málaga Airport
Málaga is open around the clock, with customs at all hours and a General Aviation Terminal used by two authorised FBOs, AviaVIP and Málaga Business Aviation FBO. It is a slot-coordinated airport and private flights are accepted only when capacity allows, so a slot must be confirmed before the flight plan is filed.

Business aviation handling
Passengers and crew can choose to use the General Aviation Terminal, served by the two FBOs authorised by the airport (AIP).
AviaVIP (Aviapartner Málaga FBO)
Authorised FBO in the General Aviation Terminal (AIP). Open 24/7. Over 500 m2 of lounges with ramp views, two passenger lounges, crew lounge, private meeting room and hangar access.
Málaga Business Aviation FBO U.T.E.
Authorised FBO in the General Aviation Terminal (AIP).
Worth knowing before you fly
- Málaga accepts private flights only when capacity allows, and a flight without an approved slot will not be allowed to operate. Book the slot early, especially in summer.
- Passengers can use the General Aviation Terminal, where AviaVIP and Málaga Business Aviation FBO are the authorised FBOs, so they avoid the main terminal.
- Small piston aircraft are effectively barred during the day, so a client needing a very small aircraft should be offered a turboprop or jet.
- Late passengers can cost time: under A-CDM a crew that misses its start-up window loses its place in the departure sequence.

Airport
| Opening hours | Airport, customs and immigration, ATS, fuel and civil handling are listed as H24 in the Spanish AIP. AviaVIP lists its Málaga FBO as open 24/7. |
|---|---|
| Prior permission | No separate PPR, but an airport slot must be requested before the flight plan is sent, and flights without an authorised slot are not permitted. General and business aviation must use a ground handling agent, and the handler (and FBO, if used) must be named in the slot request and in item 18 of the flight plan. Flight plans filed more than 15 days ahead are not accepted. |
| Customs and immigration | Customs and immigration are H24 (AIP). |
| Slots | Coordinated airport (Spanish Level 3, AESA list). Slots come from AECFA in office hours; requests made after AECFA's hours on the working day before, or on the day, go to the airport operations centre (CEOPS). |
| Noise and night restrictions | No night curfew is published. Reverse thrust above idle is not allowed 20:00-04:00 UTC in summer and 21:00-05:00 UTC in winter (22:00-06:00 local), except for safety. Engine tests above idle are not allowed on any stand. The airport monitors noise and tracks around the clock. |
| Aircraft parking | No business-jet parking limits are published. Hangar space is only for aircraft up to 11 m wingspan (AIP). |
| De-icing | Not available (AIP). |
| Other restrictions | General and business aviation traffic depends on available capacity. Runway 12 is for landing only and runway 30 for take-off only. The airport is closed to piston-engined aircraft 08:00-22:00 local in summer and 08:00-16:00 local in winter, and VFR and training flights are only allowed 01:00-05:00 local. Málaga runs A-CDM: if start-up is not requested within 5 minutes of the target off-block time, the flight loses its start-up slot and is resequenced. |
