Private jets at Nuremberg Airport

Nuremberg Airport is 5 km north of the city centre, with a 2,700-metre runway, customs at all hours and a General Aviation Terminal run by the airport's handling company, AirPart. Business aviation does not need an airport slot here, but night rules close the airport to most jets between 22:00 and 06:00 local.

Opening hoursAir traffic services, customs and immigration, fuel, handling, security and de-icing are listed as H24 in AIP Germany, but night flying restrictions apply (see noise). The General Aviation Terminal (GAT) is open Monday to Friday 06:00-21:30 and Saturday, Sunday and holidays 08:30-18:00 local (airport website).
Prior permissionAircraft of ICAO code letters D, E and F need a PPR number from the aerodrome operator, requested by email at least 48 hours before the expected arrival and entered in item 18 of the flight plan. Ultralight aircraft also need prior permission. Typical business jets (code letters A to C) have no published PPR requirement in the AIP.
Customs and immigrationCustoms and immigration are H24 (AIP Germany).
SlotsNuremberg is a schedule-facilitated (Level 2) airport under Fluko, the German airport coordinator. Fluko lists general and business aviation slot coordination only at the seven Level 3 airports, and Nuremberg is not one of them.
Noise and night restrictionsJets certificated to ICAO Annex 16 Chapter 3 may not take off or land 22:00-06:00 local, except delayed scheduled and non-scheduled flights up to 23:00 local and aircraft types on the German transport ministry's bonus list. Jets without Chapter 3 certification may not operate 21:00-07:00 local (delays allowed to 22:00 local). Propeller aircraft are restricted 22:00-06:00 local unless certificated to Chapter 3, 5, 6 or 10. Unplanned diversions caused by night restrictions elsewhere are not accepted 22:00-06:00 local. Reverse thrust at night only as needed for safety. (AIP times are given in UTC; local times shown here.)
Aircraft parkingVisiting aircraft can park outside or in a hangar by prior registration (GAT). Hangar space is available on request where it is not used by based aircraft (AIP). In the GAT area, stands may be unmarked and are allocated by a follow-me vehicle. No business-jet parking time limits are published.
De-icingAvailable H24. De-icing is run by AirPart and Nuremberg Airport on all stands of the main aprons and on parts of the general aviation apron. The handling agent must request it from the airport duty officer at least 25 minutes before the desired start (AIP Germany).
Other restrictionsCode letter D, E and F aircraft need a PPR number 48 hours ahead. Flying over the airport buildings on approach and departure is prohibited. Aircraft up to 2,000 kg MTOW normally take off from intersections. Take-offs from runway 10 must take care because of obstacles in the departure area. Grass areas are unsuitable for aircraft movements.
