Private jets at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport

Schiphol is a slot-coordinated hub where business aviation uses a separate general aviation area at Schiphol-East, with private terminals run by Jet Aviation and AviaVIP. Every private flight needs an ad hoc slot from Airport Coordination Netherlands, and private flights are in principle not allowed at night (23:00-07:00 local).

Airport

Opening hoursThe aerodrome, customs and immigration, air traffic services, fuel, handling, security and de-icing are H24 in the Dutch AIP. At Schiphol-East (general aviation), normal fuel and handling hours are 06:30-23:30 local; outside these hours handling needs prior notice to the ground handling company. Jet Aviation's FBO is open 06:00-23:00 local every day. AviaVIP lists 07:00-23:00 local with 24/7 availability.
Prior permissionThere is no separate PPR, but general aviation must request an ad hoc slot from Airport Coordination Netherlands (ACNL) and wait for approval before operating. GA slots are only allocated after the slot return date (31 January for the summer season, 31 August for the winter season). The slot ID must be quoted in item 18 of the flight plan.
Customs and immigrationCustoms and immigration are H24 (Dutch AIP). Jet Aviation lists immigration and customs clearance on site. AviaVIP lists direct access to ramp, security and customs.
SlotsCoordinated airport. Slots are allocated by Airport Coordination Netherlands (ACNL). General aviation, including business aviation and air taxi, must request an ad hoc slot in GCR format and receive approval before operating. Ad hoc GA slots create no historic rights.
Noise and night restrictionsSchiphol has a limited number of night slots between 23:00 and 07:00 local, and general aviation is in principle not allowed to operate in that period. Landing or taking off at night without a slot is not allowed and is enforced by the authorities. Jet departures are recommended to fly the NADP2 noise abatement procedure, and continuous descent approaches are used at night on runways 06 and 18R. (AIP times are in UTC; local times shown here.)
Aircraft parkingHangar space for visiting aircraft is limited and on request (AIP). Schiphol-East parking is on the K and M aprons, which the AIP lists as restricted, with stands allocated by the apron controller (Schiphol Amsterdam General Aviation). No business-jet parking time limits are published.
De-icingAvailable, H24 (Dutch AIP).
Other restrictionsGeneral aviation is in principle not allowed 23:00-07:00 local. Mode S transponders must work on the ground. Runway 04/22, the shortest runway, is mainly used for general aviation and VFR traffic and has extra cautions in the AIP (non-precision classification, turbulence near buildings). Passenger transport on the aprons is only by the relevant ground handler's vehicles. At times of severe expected capacity reduction (for example storms), operators may be advised to cancel, divert or reschedule.
