Private jets at Barcelona El Prat Airport
Barcelona is open around the clock with three runways, customs at all hours and a business aviation terminal run by two FBOs, AviaVIP and United Aviation. It is slot-coordinated all year, and summer rules limit how long private jets can stay and when lighter jets can arrive.

Business aviation handling
The AIP names AviaVIP FBO and United Aviation FBO as managers of the General and Business Aviation terminal. Business jets park on Ramp 0, which is reserved for corporate and private aircraft.
AviaVIP FBO Barcelona
One of the two General and Business Aviation terminal managers (FBO) named in the AIP; 24-hour phone and e-mail. Separate passenger and crew lounges, ramp access for cars, on-site customs.
United Aviation FBO (United Aviation Services)
The other General and Business Aviation terminal manager (FBO) named in the AIP.
Worth knowing before you fly
- Light and midsize jets (15 t MTOW or less) cannot land between 07:00 and 11:30 (AIP time) from June to September. Morning summer arrivals in smaller aircraft need to be planned around this window.
- Stays are capped: 96 hours for non-regular operators, and only 36 hours for code D and larger aircraft in summer, which also need 15 days' notice. Long stays may need a reposition to another airport.
- Ramp 0, the business aviation apron, is being rebuilt in phases until about August 2027, so stand availability can change at short notice by NOTAM.
- Summer general aviation slots open only 30 days ahead, so very early bookings cannot be confirmed straight away.

Airport
| Opening hours | Airport, customs and immigration, ATS, fuel, handling and de-icing are all H24 (Spanish AIP, AIRAC AMDT 09/26, WEF 1 October 2026). AviaVIP lists its Spanish operations centre as H24 and gives a 24-hour FBO phone line in the AIP. |
|---|---|
| Prior permission | No PPR as such, but every flight needs an airport slot and a contracted ramp handling agent. Non-regular business aviation operators must request an arrival slot and the linked departure slot, and may stay no more than 96 hours. In summer, aircraft of code letter D or larger must notify the airport at least 15 days before arrival by e-mail to Operations, may stay no more than 36 hours, and still need slots. Operators flying often can apply to Aena for 'regular operator' status. |
| Customs and immigration | Customs and immigration H24 (AIP). AviaVIP lists on-site security, customs and controls at its FBO. |
| Slots | Coordinated airport (Level 3) in summer and winter (AESA list). The airport's operations office may reject flights whose flight plan times do not match the slot. In summer, general aviation slots (arrival and departure) are not coordinated more than 30 days ahead. |
| Noise and night restrictions | No curfew is published. Night is 23:00-07:00 local. At night, runways 02 and 20 are not used for take-off and 06R is not used for landing except for safety, and use of the longer runway (06L/24R) needs a written performance justification within 7 days. Chapter 2 aircraft may not operate, and 'marginally compliant' Chapter 3 jets (cumulative margin of 5 EPNdB or less) need an AESA exemption. Reverse thrust above idle is banned at night on 06L/24R and 02. Infringements can lead to sanctions. |
| Aircraft parking | Ramp 0 is for corporate and private aircraft only, up to its declared capacity. Non-regular operators may stay no more than 96 hours; in summer, code D and larger aircraft are limited to 36 hours and need 15 days' notice. In summer, general aviation slots are not coordinated more than 30 days in advance. Works to reconfigure the stands on Ramp 0 and the lighting on Ramps 0 and 1 run in phases until about 6 August 2027 (AIP SUP 119/26), with some stands out of use in each phase and push-back or pull-forward equipment required. There is no hangar space. |
| De-icing | Available H24, provided by the handling agent (AIP). |
| Other restrictions | In June, July, August and September, aircraft of 15,000 kg MTOW or less may not arrive between 07:00 and 11:30 (AIP time), except ambulance, state and public-service flights. VFR flights, helicopters and aircraft of 2,000 kg MTOW or less are not accepted except for public-service flights. Departures from 24R (west configuration) or 06L (east) are allowed only to aircraft that need the extra length, with a written justification sent within 7 days. A ramp handling agent is mandatory. |
