Worth knowing before you fly
- Atatürk no longer handles airline passenger flights and is kept for business, general aviation, cargo and state traffic, with customs, handling and fuel around the clock.
- The runway is capped at 10 movements an hour (5 arrivals, 5 departures), so the exact time a client wants may not always be available.
- Non-commercial business flights from European (ECAC) states usually need only a flight plan sent 3 hours before entering Turkish airspace, but a charter needs DGCA permission, normally 5 working days ahead.
- The single runway is 2,580 metres, so check take-off performance for long-range jets planned at heavy weights.
