Private jets at Miami International Airport
Miami International is an airline airport with four long runways, round-the-clock US customs at its General Aviation Center and a Signature private terminal. Business aircraft share it with airline traffic, and Opa-locka Executive, a general aviation airport to the north, is a nearby alternative for private flights.

Business aviation handling
Signature runs a private terminal at 5700 NW 36th Street. The airport-run General Aviation Center houses CBP but offers only basic facilities.
Signature Aviation (Signature Miami)
5700 NW 36th Street. Open 24 hours. Private terminal with lounge, conference rooms, VIP/head-of-state handling, agricultural clearance and limo-only ramp-side vehicle access. Lists hangar and ramp space.
Miami-Dade Aviation Department General Aviation Center (GAC)
Not an FBO. Run by the airport operator, open 24/7, with limited facilities (public lounge, telephones, restrooms). It houses CBP, which clears arriving international private, charter and cargo flights.
Worth knowing before you fly
- Miami International carries airline traffic. Opa-locka Executive, about 13 miles north of downtown Miami, is a business-aviation alternative with several FBOs.
- US customs at MIA works around the clock, which helps very late or very early international arrivals that would miss customs hours at Opa-locka.
- Aircraft with a wingspan over 78 ft cannot use the General Aviation Center ramp, so larger long-range jets need their parking arranged with the FBO in advance.
- PPR is needed at least 3 hours before arrival on the GAC ramp, so very short-notice trips need a quick call ahead.
