Private jets at Vienna Airport
Vienna is open around the clock with two long runways, customs at all hours, and a separate VIP and General Aviation Terminal about 3 km west of the main terminal. It is a fully coordinated airport, so every IFR private flight needs an airport slot, and flights between 23:30 and 05:30 local are limited.

Business aviation handling
The VIP and General Aviation Terminal is about 3 km west of the main airport building, with its own entrance off the B9 road before the airport, and parking next to it. Vienna Airport FBO runs it; its VIP service in the same building is also sold to airline passengers. Jet Aviation operates from the General Aviation Center.
Vienna Airport FBO
Subsidiary of Flughafen Wien AG at the VIP and General Aviation Terminal, Niki Lauda Allee Object 140. Passenger lounge, crew rest rooms, meeting rooms, help with arrival formalities, ATC and slot coordination, valet parking, and fiscal representation for the Austrian air passenger levy. Heated hangars next to the terminal. Executive handling desk 06:00-22:30 weekdays and 06:00-21:00 weekends; aircraft services and hotline 24 hours.
Jet Aviation
FBO at the General Aviation Center, Steinriegelweg 1, since 2014. Passenger VIP lounge, crew lounge, customs and immigration assistance, slot arrangement, parking, de-icing and fuel coordination, AOG and line maintenance. Operating hours 24/7; office 07:00-22:00.
Worth knowing before you fly
- Private passengers use the VIP and General Aviation Terminal, a separate building about 3 km west of the main terminal with its own road entrance and parking, so they do not pass through the airline terminals.
- Every IFR private flight needs an airport slot, requested up to 28 days ahead and tied to the flight plan by a slot ID. Slots allow plus or minus 30 minutes, so a bigger schedule change means asking for a new slot.
- There is no fixed curfew, but flights between 23:30 and 05:30 local are capped under the mediation agreement. Late-night arrivals and early departures need checking for slot availability before you commit.
- Vienna runs A-CDM, so the aircraft has to be ready within about five minutes of its target off-block time. Late passengers can lose the departure slot and mean waiting for a new start-up time.

Airport
| Opening hours | Aerodrome, customs and immigration, air traffic control, fuel, handling and de-icing are all listed as H24 in the AIP Austria. Vienna Airport FBO says its aircraft services run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a 24-hour hotline; its Executive Aircraft Handling desk is open 06:00-22:30 Monday to Friday and 06:00-21:00 Saturday and Sunday. Jet Aviation lists its operating hours as 24/7, with the office staffed 07:00-22:00 daily. |
|---|---|
| Prior permission | The AIP does not list PPR for IFR flights at Vienna; instead, every IFR general and business aviation flight must hold an airport slot (see slots). VFR flights must follow the PPR rules published in the AIP Austria, and flights without a transponder are only possible in exceptional cases with prior permission. |
| Customs and immigration | Customs and immigration are H24 (AIP Austria). Vienna Airport FBO's executive handling package includes help with arrival formalities, and Jet Aviation lists customs and immigration assistance. |
| Slots | Coordinated airport (IATA Level 3, Schedule Coordination Austria). All IFR flights, including general and business aviation, must hold landing and take-off slots. Requests go to the General Aviation operations office at slot.gac@viennaairport.com, or through the handling agent, no earlier than 28 days before the flight. Only single flights are accepted, deviations within plus or minus 30 minutes need no new slot, and the Airport Slot ID must go in field 18 of the flight plan. |
| Noise and night restrictions | Only jets meeting at least ICAO Annex 16 Chapter 3 noise limits may use the airport. Under the mediation agreement with neighbouring communities, movements in the night period 23:30-05:30 local are capped, and the airport operator manages the limit, including approval of unplanned night movements. Night noise-abatement departure routes and a night runway system apply 20:00-06:00 UTC (19:00-05:00 UTC in summer), which is 21:00-07:00 local. Reverse thrust above idle is not allowed unless needed for safety. |
| Aircraft parking | Business aircraft park on the GAC (General Aviation) apron, where a follow-me car is mandatory for all taxiing aircraft. Hangar space for visiting aircraft is available on request (AIP). Vienna Airport FBO offers short-term and long-term hangarage in heated hangars next to the terminal. No parking time or size limits for business jets are published. |
| De-icing | Available H24 (AIP). De-icing vehicles work on defined de-icing positions, and crews can request de-icing through the digital departure clearance. Vienna Airport FBO and Jet Aviation both coordinate de-icing for their customers. |
| Other restrictions | Vienna runs Airport-Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM): the aircraft must be ready for start-up at its Target Off-Block Time, plus or minus 5 minutes, or the TOBT has to be updated. General aviation flights get their start-up time through the handling agent or the GA counter in the General Aviation Terminal. Follow-me is mandatory on the GA apron. Night arrivals on runway 29 between 23:30 and 05:30 local must normally fly a set RNP noise-abatement procedure, which crews must be familiar with. |
