Slots and permissions during the Cannes Film Festival
During major events, airports often run special slot, parking and prior-permission (PPR) schemes, and each airport sets its own rules for each event. Every event quote is subject to the slots and permissions being granted. We apply for them as soon as you book, and if your first-choice airport is full we offer the nearest alternative.
What the airports have published
Cannes-Mandelieu bars jets over 35 tonnes and the noisiest older types, isn't open round the clock, and its official listing warns of long delays and slot coordination at peak events, naming the Film Festival.
Nice is slot-coordinated all year: every IFR arrival and departure needs a slot through the ground handler.
In 2025 a temporary no-fly zone covered Cannes during the festival, and helicopters to the Quai du Large heliport needed the operator's approval.

Questions
Which airport is closest to the Cannes Film Festival?
Cannes-Mandelieu (CEQ) is the usual choice: About 10 to 15 minutes by road to the Croisette to Palais des Festivals, La Croisette. The alternatives are Nice Côte d'Azur (NCE), Toulon-Hyères (TLN).
When should I book a private jet to the Cannes Film Festival?
We suggest booking by 19 January 2027. The book-by date is our suggested latest date to confirm for the widest choice of aircraft. Aircraft and slots are committed early for big events, so booking sooner usually means more options and a better price. After it, flights are often still possible, with less choice.
